Dietitian Review Process

Credible, reliable & professionally reviewed low FODMAP resources.

Dietitian Reviewed

What does dietitian reviewed mean?

The low FODMAP diet is a medical diet, which means it is important that you have access to reliable and up-to-date low FODMAP information. Our dietitian team professionally reviews our content to make sure our articles and resources are credible and up-to-date at the time of publishing, and that recipes meet Monash University low FODMAP guidelines.

Alana and the A Little Bit Yummy team know the FODMAP diet inside and out. They’re knowledgeable and the low FODMAP recipes and resources are great!

Review Process Workflow

  1. Low FODMAP content or recipes are drafted by our content writers/dietitian team.
  2. The first draft of the content is passed on to the qualified dietitian reviewer who then checks the content is in line with low FODMAP guidelines set out by Monash University, as well as industry guidelines. The dietitian reviewer also checks that the content interprets the science accurately and has credible references where applicable.
  3. Feedback from the dietitian team is provided to the content team. The content is edited and re-checked by the dietitian reviewer as needed.
  4. Next, the dietitian reviewed content is published.
  5. Our low FODMAP content is also periodically reviewed by the content team and if major updates are required, then the content is reviewed again by a dietitian reviewer.

The Review Process

Low FODMAP Guidelines

Our dietitian review team makes sure that resources are in line with industry best practices and low FODMAP guidelines at the time of publishing.

Recipe and resources are checked to make sure they meet recommended low FODMAP food and portion size guidelines, as outlined according to the Monash Low FODMAP App and other low FODMAP research papers.

Science Based Resources

We pride ourselves on providing resources that are backed by science. The dietitian reviewer checks that the resource contains:

    – credible and reliable information at the time of review

    – research that has been interpreted accurately

    –  reliable references

    Regular Reviews & Updates

As low FODMAP science progresses, our low FODMAP resources are periodically reviewed to ensure they remain up-to-date with current recommendations.

If major changes are required, then our dietitian team reviews the content again. You can see which dietitian reviewed the content at the top of each page and the date the content was last updated.
